More Pink

Yesterday I made another woven "canvas"...thought I would post a picture of it before I embroider and applique it. The textured white strips are from vintage trims.

Cottage Dream

Creating these woven fabric pictures is fun!  Below are photos from another that I just finished.
As I built the scene I thought about one of my grandmothers.  She enjoyed sewing, her lake cottage, and the color pink.
The base of the fabric was a piece of felt, as before.  One of the fabrics used for strips is a light cotton toile with scenes of children.  There are hints of the children and some of the landscape, such as tiny blue houses (see close-up of the cottage).  The white strips are from vintage doilies.
The first item to go on the "fabric" was the pink and blue flower applique; it is from a vintage doily. That inspired the cottage with its pink chenille roof.....then the French knot field stones, path and flowers, the tall French knot flowers, and finally the blue asters.
